Nyquist-Harcourt Wildlife Sanctuary - “for all generations”

About the Sanctuary | Photos | Trail Map

From the NYS Thruway
After leaving the toll booth, turn left (West) onto Route 299 (Main Street) and proceed through the Village of New Paltz. Just before the bridge over the Wallkill River turn right onto Huguenot Street (Gilded Otter restaurant is on the corner). Take the first left into the parking lot. Park and walk down the driveway, past the Village of New Paltz Wastewater Treatment Plant, to the Gardens for Nutrition. Beyond the fenced area of the Gardens will be a sign for the Nyquist-Harcourt Wildlife Sanctuary. One can either continue northward along the Wallkill River, or bear right to follow paths leading eastward across the Sanctuary to Huguenot Street.

From the West
Coming east on 299 from the Shawangunks, turn left just beyond the Wallkill River bridge onto Huguenot
Street. Take the first left into the parking lot. And follow the above walking directions.
